Target reached

3SHARESFacebookTwitter Today I created the 100th article on my military based website over at Armour.ws. In January of this year (2011) I promised myself or made a goal to reach 100 articles on my armored vehicle website before the end of this year. I still have roughly 2 months left before the year ends which gives me enough time to create more quality articles for the web to see! 🙂 My most recent article is on the situation unfolding in Syria at the moment. Mostly I have included my opinion on the situation over there. (Syria the next Libya?) Dependent on how the situation develops over there will sway my opinion on the next article I write. However I firmly believe the west should do the same to Syria as was done in Libya.   I doubt Russia is going to do much or China. Their voices have long be drowned out of the world stage. The west has more power I'm afraid even though it may seem to be moving towards China. Although I of course want peace in the world,  I don't want to look back in history and see the killings that happened in Syria and lecture people and say "The world stood by and did nothing…"! I mean look what happened in Libya. As soon as Col. Gaddafi was overthrown who came running to the NTC? China and Russia. Yet they opposed or abstained from the UN vote to intervene. The same will happen with Syria. The question remains whether it is viable to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad with his 300,000 strong army. The base of operations would likely have to occur in Turkey, however would they agree to that?    However it seems the world is coming to the stage where mass atrocities that take place are not dealt with anymore. I seriously do not want to see another Darfur where the world stood by and did nothing as 300,000 people were slaughtered and 2 million displaced. That is not the world we should live in. I also must reiterate that if an atrocity is taking place and we can definitively do something about it which in the long term will benefit the people, action should be taken. Although I know some will say it is frivolous to compare Darfur to Syria, it is the same thing. It is the systematic killing of innocents  but done on a smaller scale. But who really knows the real figures on the deaths that occured in Syria? The Syrian government banned all foreign media, so there really is not middle perspective on the ground at the moment.     ...

Switched from Adbrite to AdSense

9SHARESFacebookTwitter Lets just say my earnings with Adbrite are what I make in a month of that I  make in just one day with AdSense. I had not realised that Adbrite sucks on a major scale. Perhaps it works for others, I don’t know, but I have literally in one day made more money with AdSense than I have in one month with Adbrite.  I know I repeated myself there; it needs to be...

WYSIWYG visual editor not working for WordPress?

12SHARESFacebookTwitter I faced this problem on one of my WordPress websites and a simple fix was not so simple, so I completely replaced the WYSIWYG editor that comes as default with the WordPress installation. I looked online and it seemed people were looking for solutions to actually fix the editing part of the script. But why bother? I completely replaced it with this: CKeditor for WordPress (This completely replaces your old WYSIWYG editor. So if you have any problems with the defualt one, this one is a perfect replacement for it!) I tried everything to fix the issue I had previous to installing this, but really this WYSIWYG editor is much better than the default editor. Here is a screenshot of it: When I mean I tried everything, I tried everything bar-reinstalling my entire WordPress installation otherwise that would have screwed up the many plugins I have installed and the many graphical and back-end changes I made to the WordPress installation. But as you can see and if you have indeed experienced WordPress you will see instantly that there are more options with this editor while also being more pleasant to look at. 😀 (Win-win!) It totally overwrites your previous WYSIWYG editor which is what makes this “FIX” much better than fixing the default back-end editor. So this is a perfect solution to fix your problem with your WordPress WYSIWYG...

New Blog

3SHARESFacebookTwitter Welcome to my new WordPress blog, back when I started going on the Internet, I never really thought anything of it – it was just a way of meeting people, going on chat-rooms, using online services, forums, web applications and finding jobs and hobbies. However looking at things in today’s age and the late 21st century, the Internet has expanded to what we could call amazing and heavy. I currently dig the Internet, it literally has everything, from websites which help you with coding to websites which help you to the extent you can make money. Furthermore, I hope to write in this blog perhaps my life, online life and personally just express my matters on different subjects, if I may so! I love the Internet, thus far to the extent you can express your own opinions without being slandered (Unless you are on YouTube) However I just love the mass-various subjects that are on the Internet, I can literally say that you’ll thing anything and everything online. Welcome to my blog! -Jonathan Jones “Note: This has been ported from an old blog of mine that I ran; however, the domain expired and I never renewed it, as I didn’t want the domain anymore, so I poured all the content from that blog onto this blog” – Links maybe missing and things maybe...

Good sites I’ve come across

10SHARESFacebookTwitter I’ve just come over some pretty good free script sites. These are actually decent scripts, these are scripts that are made in the functionality that they’re going to be free. It’s as if, the developer of these scripts have actually made decent scripts, which are worth paying for; as the functionality of these scripts are just great as well as the user/admin interface. The sites I’m promoting on here are these: Boonex CeleronDude These are decent script sites, which offer decent scripts that do not need mass editing, unless you want to change the appearance of these scripts. But I just came accross these, and I fought what nice people to offer these wonderfully coded scripts for absolutely no price. – It really inspires me to start training at php/mysql coding, seeing as you can make all these wonderful things in your free time; for free. 😉 I’ll be using one of these scripts for my website: keeperscafe.com, and what you see on keeperscafe now is nothing, it’s just a CMS script I was testing out, but I’ll be uploading something nice on keeperscafe.com. 🙂 The scripts are as follows: (celerondude.com) Uploader v6 This script allows you to run a “file hosting” service on your web server. For a demonstration of the script and of the latest version, visit CDUpload.com. Shoutbox This is just another simple shoutbox. I needed one for my site so I wrote one. It’s meant to run inside your layout but can also be run by itself. A demo of the script in action is right here on my site. For screenshots of the admin section, scroll down. Simple Gallery A simple gallery script. Drop images into the albums directory and you’re done. Create albums is as easy as creating a new directory, literally. I’ve put up a demo gallery here. More scripts which are from:...
